Onboarding Checklist
I have sent my company bio and photo to Krista Anne (kristaanne@themakeryproject.com) for my vendor profile on the website. *
I have sent my inventory and pricing list to Katie and Krista Anne (kristaanne@themakeryproject.com) so that my items may be entered into Square. *
TERMS
I understand the following: (1) Mercury Studio carries Liability and Business Personal Property insurance for 401 W Geer Street, but cannot insure your items, as they will be owned by you until they are sold. (2) As a user, it is strongly suggested that you carry a Renters Insurance policy to cover your own property while using the space. If you already hold a renter's or homeowner's insurance policy, your items may already be covered or could be easily added. (3) The Makery is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. *
I understand that MAKER AGREEMENTS ARE AT LEAST 4-MONTH AGREEMENTS, beginning on the Start Date listed above and ending on the last day of the month in which the 4-month period ends. (After the end date, this agreement may be terminated via written notice.) *
I understand that membership fees (except the first one, which is due on the Start Date) are due on the first of the month and that if I do not pay my membership fee within the first seven days of that month, I will be charged a late fee of 10% per week until the entire balance is paid. *
I understand that my automated membership fee payment will be subject to a small (~3%) online processing fee.
I understand that if I do not pay my membership fee before the end of the month, that the membership fee and all accompanying late fees will be deducted from my sales check. If the sales check is lower than the amount owed, then it will be held until the account balance is paid. *
I understand the following Commission Schedule: ● Jan - March: 5% ● April - June: 9% ● July - Sept: 13% ● Oct - Dec: 18% ● Commission Only: 25% Year-Round *
I understand that “Commission” includes credit card fees and will be automatically deducted from monthly sales totals, as reported on sales reports. *
I understand that if my monthly sales total is not greater than or equal to my monthly membership fee, full commission will not be deducted, but 2.75% will be deducted to cover credit card processing fees. *
I understand that I will receive a sales report for each month within the first seven days of the following month and a check for each month’s sales within the first 14 days of the following month. *
I understand that as a vendor I am responsible for regularly maintaining and updating my own display and merchandising, including clear signage and business cards and contributing to the greater good of the store through online/print promotion and/or hosting events at the store. *
I understand that as a The Makery vendor, I have access to The Makery as a shared work and meeting space, but that the rest of Mercury Studio's workspaces are reserved for coworking members unless in instances worked out with Katie (katie@mercurystudiodurham.com). *
