Sara Willeford lives in Durham with her partner, their two children and their dachshund, Bella. She has been sewing since she was a little kid. She and her sister made scrap dolls out of anything available to them, which was mostly socks. They stuffed them with dryer lint or pine needles and used old buttons for eyes. These days Sara is steering clear of the dryer lint, but still has a large focus on natural and re-purposed materials.
When Sara is not sewing, she can be found spending time with her family, nannying, reading, doing yoga, thrifting, and cleaning up messes. She is also an aspiring Doula, and her love for pregnancy and childbirth crop up consistently in her doll making.
Her hope for each of her dolls, is that they bring a sense of peace and magic to whomever they visit.
